About Edgewood Middle School

The town of Wooster, Ohio is located approximately halfway between Columbus and Cleveland. For families looking to set down roots, Wooster features two universities, five elementary schools, one high school, and one middle school. Edgewood Middle School serves all of the middle school-aged students in Wooster.

Academics

Edgewood Middle School offers both basic and advanced courses for seventh and eighth grade students. The curriculum for both grades includes language arts, maths, science, health and electives, such as fine arts and foreign languages. Qualifying eighth grade students are eligible to receive high school credit for honors courses and foreign language courses. Physical education is also a core part of the Edgewood curriculum.

Sports

Sports are an integral part of Edgewood Middle School. In the fall, students can participate in football, volleyball, cross country and cheerleading while winter sports include basketball and wrestling. In the spring, they can participate in track and field and softball. Whatever the sports students choose, they must maintain high grades in order to participate.

Edgewood programs

Edgewood Middle School offers cafeteria-style breakfast and lunch for its students. Students can pay cash, but parents can also pay for their lunch in advance online. Other special programs at Edgewood include the Blue and Gold Card Program, which honors students that demonstrate high academic skills, good behavior and regular attendance. These students receive special incentives and rewards for doing well in school.

In addition to its high academic standards and sports programs, Edgewood Middle School has numerous clubs, recreational sport activities and a diverse student body. Truly, Edgewood has something for everyone.
