Wayne Center for the Arts in Wooster, Ohio is a vital part of the historic downtown area. History of Wayne Center for the Arts

The center was formerly known as the Wooster Arts center and was founded in the year 1973. It was originally located on the campus of the College of Wooster. In 1984, it received its new location on Walnut Street in the historic downtown area of Wooster thanks to a generous donation from the Rubbermaid Corporation. The center has continued to grow after its move, offering numerous activities throughout the year including classes, special events, performances and exhibits. The center is open six days a week, only closing on Sundays, to ensure everyone can experience what the center has to offer.

Wayne Center for the Arts is a symbol to the people of Wooster, Ohio, as well as the surrounding towns, and ensures that the cultural history of the area is sure to continue its celebration in years to come. The center ensures that their events are advertised and known through social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The center hosts church groups, schools and summer camps to give children an opportunity to see a wide variety of arts and culture, all under one roof.
